WELCOME & THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST
Welcome and thank you for your interest. Your wellness is important! Good for you for reaching out and inquiring about professional support. I know that it takes strength and courage. I respect your initial step into the counseling process and I hope that I can be of support to you.
Having support as we navigate through life’s challenges is helpful. The challenges that we face are often unique to our own lived experiences, as is the healing process that we go through. The freedom that comes from doing the work through those difficult, distressing and painful experiences can be one of our biggest rewards.
ABOUT
As a therapist, it’s my honor to work alongside my clients. I have deep respect for those who possess the courage and willingness to view their vulnerability as a strength. I have come to understand that conscious and intentional change is what creates the foundation for real growth, and I believe that moving through our pain allows us to develop purpose, perspective, and meaning.
In my practice, I emphasize compassion and acceptance, creating a safe space where clients can gain awareness and take ownership of their own unique healing process. Therapy can create an opportunity for profound personal healing and transformation, and it’s my pleasure to provide guidance and support through this process, as clients learn to release themselves from judgement and let go of fear.
I meet with clients virtually and in-person. I work with adults of all ages, including trauma survivors, first responders, those experiencing anxiety, depression, life stress, as well as those exploring personal growth and development.
My experience is grounded in over thirty years of marriage, parenting, lifelong learning, and education. I received a Masters Degree in Social Work from Sacramento State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with an emphasis in Child and Family Studies. I also hold a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS-C). My therapeutic training includes: Brainspotting, EMDR, CBT, Trauma Informed CBT, Gottman Method Couples Level 1, and Internal Family Systems.
HOW I CAN HELP
I work with individuals, couples and families, including teens, adults, seniors and the LGBTQ+ community. It is my goal to provide my clients with the time, space and support they need. As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW #118987), it is a privilege for me to get to share my understanding of the human experience with you. It is within these experiences that we have an opportunity to gain a deeper awareness about ourselves, and with newfound awareness we have the opportunity to create change.
I am passionate about living a healthy, authentic and wholehearted life. I look forward to helping you along your journey.
WHEN TO SEEK THERAPY
Is now the right time for therapy?
The purpose of therapy is to help us gain awareness, and with this gained awareness we then have an opportunity to make positive changes that move us into a healthier life.
For each of us the reason to begin therapy may be different, but frequently it is because we are feeling stuck and not sure how to move ourselves forward. We may feel grief, sadness, depression, anxiety, panic, uncertainty, or experience repetitive thoughts, all of which can be helped with therapeutic consultation.
